Weekly Wardrobe: A Very Blustery Day

Glasses: BonLook; Top: Anthropologie/Similar; Necklace: c/o Periwinkle Nuthatch; Belt: Anthropologie/Similar; Skirt: Anthropologie/Similar; Tights: Nordstrom; Shoes: J. Crew

Well, it must officially be fall in Seattle because it is damn blustery! Katie Marie V and I set out to Discovery Park on Sunday and thought we would be totally fine to do a photoshoot there since it had been a pretty dry morning. We were there for all of 15 minutes when the wind picked up, the rain started pouring down, and we realized we had perhaps been a bit too optimistic! We essentially ended up being blown away and were soaking wet by the time we were done. My skirt kept flying up, too, so there were lots of free peeks for my fellow park goers. Sigh. At least I was wearing tights!

Well, we powered through, and then bundled the hell up and took ourselves out for pumpkin spice lattes and some sale shopping at J. Crew! I found a super sweet, cozy wool sweater that I'm in totally love with for like, $30 (I love J. Crew sales!). I'm sure you'll be seeing it soon!

I'm trying to really enjoy the fall season while I can. Fall and winter in Seattle tend to be very similar weather-wise, but our days get incredibly short in the winter, so I'm trying to drink in all the daylight I can during this lovely season.

As crazy as it may sound, I love these blustery days. I think there's something about just having to let go and laugh as your hair is flying 8 different directions, you're soaked to the bone, and your umbrella has turned inside out 5 separate times. Why fight it?

Blustery days also make me think of Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, which was hands down one of my favorite things to watch (and read) as a kid. I even made a diorama of it for school when I was 8 or 9! It was real cute.

Are you guys enjoying the fall weather in your neck of the woods?

Til next time!

  1. You are so adorable! I love this photos! It puts me in that fall/windy day mood! In Michigan we are still enjoying the temperate weather in the 70s and the leaves are just beginning to change!

    1. Thank you so much! The pockets are the best. I love wearing it when I'm going to a concert or something and don't want to carry a purse. I can fit a purse worth of stuff in those pockets!

  14. Becca you have the most adorable outfits, ever. Like seriously. You need a "shop my closet" section on your blog so I can buy all the stuff you don't want anymore lol :D

  17. J Crew is the best. If I had all the money I would shop there all the time! Oof, they did pick a bad time to visit! This rain is normal, but the wind is not! I'm hoping it'll clear up soon.

  19. These are such great photos! I love how your skirt got so billowy with the wind, and I'm super jealous of your Anthro wardrobe :) I'm not a fan of short days- I just want to shut down and do nothing once it's dark and that's not very productive at 4PM... You look lovely!

  21. One day I will find out where you live, I will sneak into your closet, and I will steal this entire outfit.
One day when I'm not pregnant, anyway. Because it. Is. Adorable. And I love it SO MUCH!
Yes! Every time there's a really windy day, I think of Winnie The Pooh! Hehe, so fun!
I love the fall days (even the rain) except that it makes it harder for me to take pictures outside. Oh well! I'll just have to get more creative. But the cold is SO nice for just cuddling up inside, warm and toasty with a cup of tea. That, and it means I have to stay inside and clean my house... ;)
    Happy Thursday!

    1. Hahaha! Thanks, Kristina! I'll make sure to tell Buddy and Hank to not let any strangers into the closet, just in case! Photos are wayyyy harder. You have to take advantages of the windows of time where there's no rain! That, or load up on photos on nice days (which is what I did today....).
